Who We Are
Suankularb Astronomy Club
To enable Suankularb Wittayalai School students to develop their interests, knowledge, and skills in astronomy through academic activities organized by the school, a group of students founded the Astronomy Club in the academic year 2017. The club's office is located at the Sirindhorn Planetarium Office, 5th floor, Princess Srinagarindra Building. Over the past 8 years, the Astronomy Club has organized various astronomy-related activities, such as children's astronomy camps, science weeks, astronomy academic competitions (SPICA), stargazing events on various occasions, and more.
In the academic year 2022, the Astronomy Club entered the era of the 6th Administrative Committee and expanded the scope of activities beyond promoting and responding to students' interest in astronomy within the school. The club organized activities for external interested parties, including community development projects and knowledge dissemination to students and people in remote areas.
In 2024, under the vision of the 6th-7th Administrative Committee and the support of advising teachers, the Astronomy Club received the Outstanding Youth Award of Bangkok (Prakas Phet) for 2024 in the youth development category. The club received the award plaque from the Bangkok Governor. The Astronomy Club will continue to work with the driving force to promote, support, and develop learning in the field of astronomy through various activities.
In the academic year 2025, the Astronomy Club entered the era of the 9th Administrative Committee, increasing limits and developing personnel capabilities to create more outstanding works for the public. The club also promotes Thai astronomy to make it easily accessible and more interesting to the general public.
